At March 10 extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, the item on proposing Gegham Hoveyan’s candidacy presented by the NA My Step Faction to the National Assembly for the vacancy of the member of the Audit Chamber was debated. The MP Karen Grigoryan presented the candidate’s biography and work experience.
First, Hoveyan thanked the NA My Step Faction for nominating him as a candidate then noted: “Improving the quality of audits is in the interests of all of us: first of all, it is a public demand. In my opinion, there are opportunities for the improvement in this direction which are related to both the legislative amendments and internal procedures.”
The candidate has underlined that in case of being elected, he will continue to put his long-term work experience and professional knowledge into practice in the continuous reform of the structure.
The candidate sees the increase of public trust to the Audit Chamber through making the results of the audits more public. According to the candidate, they should be often debated both at the Committees of Parliament and the Subcommittees.
The Committee Members voted for the candidacy.
